Eternal Life (Series 1, Lesson 3)

By Sean Mize These lessons are designed to be easily used for personal Bible Study or as a guide for group Bible Studies. Each of the lessons will include a set of discussion questions at the end of the lesson, which can be used either privately for introspection or in a group setting as provocative discussion builders. In the same way as God gave us life, gave us food to eat, and gives us the daily needs to maintain our life, he has also given us eternal life. The state of that eternal life will be a reflection of our response to His given, while we are here on earth. You see, for those of us who recognize His Creatorship, His Godship, and worship Him as such, we will spend that eternal life with Him, in His presence. O, what a beautiful time that will be! Forever, with the Creator of the Universe! For those who reject His Creatorship and Godship, He has ordained a place for them in eternal isolation from Him. This eternal isolation is so intense that it is referred to in the Bible as a Hell, as a place of eternal torment. It will still be eternal life, but it will be eternal life in seclusion from our Lord and Maker. Have you ever been alone? Really alone? You think no one cares? No one wants to talk? Imagine a place on this earth of isolation. Imagine the prisoner of war who is put into an earthen cell, and fed once a day. But even that prisoner, as alone as he may feel, is not truly alone. Perhaps he can see the soldiers when they come to bring his daily food. Perhaps the rats and cockroaches visit him in his cell. Perhaps he hears the tortured screams of other prisoners. Perhaps he converses with his God. He is not truly alone. But nevertheless, he is experiencing a type of living hell. Now imagine what that same cell would be like with no food, no rats, no soldiers or fellow prisoners, and worst yet, no God. That is Hell. You see, when God created us, He created us for Heaven, not Hell. He created us to always have communion, fellowship, and communication with Him. Starting with the first man and the first woman, Adam and Eve, man as a race has chosen to eat of the forbidden fruit, to sin, or turn away from God. Everyone who has ever lived to the age of understanding has done it, turned away from God, and failed to recognize Him as God and Provider. Not only failed, but purposely tested Him to show that they are in control of their own lives. The Book of Romans tells us: For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom. 3: 23). Once we have sinned and rejected the promises of God, His life-giving power, once we eat of the forbidden fruit, so to speak, once we firmly establish that we own our lives and our futures, we effectively tell God that we no longer need Him, that we can do it on our own. And the natural and fair end of that decision is that God gives us exactly what we ask for and desire: eternal separation from Him. Because He is Holy, he cannot tolerate the presence of the unholy, of sin. The natural and normal result of the choice to sin, to refuse to accept His Creatorship and Lordship, is eternal separation from Him, which is effectively death (Rom 6: 23). Fortunately, God in His infinite mercy has crafted a plan, one which He set into motion before He even created the earth, knowing what His creation would do. He ordained that His own Son would die to bridge the gap between God Himself, from whom every man chooses to separate, and man, the creation. By being God Himself and taking on the nature of man, when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was put to death, his death was able to pay the penalty, not of His own sins, because He had none, but our own sins, because He was pure in His death. You see, the acceptance of His death for our sins is the same difference as not eating of the forbidden fruit (which we have all done, in one form or another). It is the same difference as paying a tithe of our property and our yearly increase. It is the ultimate form of recognizing that God created everything, including us, and that He gave us everything we have. It is simply saying that I cannot, as man, do it on my own; I need a mediator, someone to stand in the gap for my rebellion, and prevent eternal isolation from the Creator of the universe. Questions for discussion: Describe your view of the nature of God and His redemption plan. Have you struggled with what you perceived as Gods wrathful and vindictive nature? Does this lesson help you see that eternal separation is a direct result of our sin, not His vindictive nature? Have you sinned (rebelled against the Creator of the universe)? Can God, in His holiness, permit sin in His presence? Have you accepted His loving plan to keep you from eternal separation? How to Execute an Equity Improvement

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Talbert_Williams]Talbert Williams When considering home equity loans, borrowers often take out loans to increase equity on the home. The loans are then utilized to improve the home, increasing the value. The homeowner may consider drops in market value and additions to the home to prepare for the drops. On the other hand, few borrowers consider home equity loans to payoff high interest on secure loans, consolidate their bills, and so forth. There are various types of home equity loans available on the marketplace. Some of the loans are low interest and low monthly repayments; however, others may have higher rates of interest and mortgage payments. Still, comparing the differences can help you see that, despite the rates, few equity home loans have more to offer than others do. Loan rates often fluctuate with loans, since the lender adheres to the prime rate rules, Treasury bill, treasury notes, treasury bonds, federal rates and funds, and other rate controller rules. Thus, lenders are controlled by government and federal regulations, as well as few others, since competition is involved. Thus, the government and federal reserve control inflation in the economy. Many of the equity loans online offer several packages, which include the fixed rate loans. These loans are less apt to change rates as often as the adjustable rate loans. Therefore, it makes sense to checkout the different types of loans offered, comparing the difference in product, rates, terms, and so forth. Most investors will keep up with the rate changes in the economy, since these people take out equity loans for profit. However, standard homeowners care less about the rate changes, thinking it will not affect them one way or another. But dont be fooled if you are considering loans. If you are considering loans, it makes sense to keep up with the rate changes whether you are borrowing for profit or borrowing to save your home. Why The Best Marketing Tactics May Have Failed You Up Until Now.

By Kathy Hendershot-Hurd Ever wonder why some marketing tactics work for some businesses but not others? Maybe you heard about a business that paints their company websites URL on the top of their delivery trucks and increased sales by 25%, yet when you try the same tactic, sales remained flat. The reason most marketing tactics fail is that they are not part of a comprehensive marketing strategy. A comprehensive marketing strategy helps you to choose which tactics will work for your business and keep the sales coming in like clockwork no matter what the economy. Defining Marketing Strategy After 20 years of working with businesses on creating advertising messages that deliver results, I’ve come up with a few word pictures to try to help clients better understand why we do the things we do in advertising and marketing. To help clients get a handle on marketing strategy, I use the following illustration. If you have ever gone fishing, you have probably realized that there is more to fishing than merely baiting your hook, casting it into the water and reeling in fish. The same is true in advertising. When I was a child, I would take a fishing rod and reel -equipped with little more than a hook and a bobber – down to a creek behind our house. As I made my way to the creek, I dug up a few worms, and when I arrived at the waters edge I impaled the unlucky creatures on my hook and tossed the line into the creek. Because my goal was to catch anything, the only fish I ever caught were either carp or catfish and I didnt catch those very often. I knew that the creek that ran behind my childhood home was teaming with blue gill, bass and other desirable fish. I knew because I saw other anglers stand in the very spot I did and catch those very fish. However, despite my good intentions and all of my efforts, the best I ever caught was an occasional carp or catfish. Years later, I can see that the reason I was catching these bottom feeders is that I had my hook lying on the bottom of the creek. The anglers who were bringing in the fish I desired werent using the huge hook I was using, nor were they using earthworms for bait. (Nor, for that matter, were they using an oversized orange bobber!) In my youthful exuberance, I had over-estimated the depth of the waters and seriously over-estimated the mouths of the creeks desirable fish. No matter how noble my goals, I was not fishing with the proper bait and tackle, so I could not catch the fish I desired. Experienced anglers know that choosing the proper tackle is essential before you begin to fish. You have to know what fish you are targeting, because that determines everything else. By the time an angler picks a target, s/he will have made many decisions well in advance. The first choice is whether to fish in fresh water or salt water. From there, the angler will choose the weight of the line, the type of bait and the size of the hook. If you want to be successful in fishing, you have to choose your target in advance. You have to develop a “fishing strategy”. The same is true when you’re fishing for customers for your business. Using marketing tactics is like using bait when you fish. You may be using a bait that is irresistable to sailfish on the open ocean, but when you’re sitting on a boat in the middle of a lake teaming with bluegill, your irresistable bait won’t result in catching very many fish. Marketing Tactics, when used to support a Marketing Strategy, can be powerful. However, when used haphazardly, they can actually hurt your business. There is no such thing as a “magic marketing tactic” that works for everyone, every time. Yet, you’ll find entire books focused solely upon marketing tactics instead of helping you develop a marketing strategy. That’s probably because executing marketing tactics is easy. Developing a marketing strategy can be hard if you don’t have direction. The basics of developing powerful marketing strategies STEP ONE – Research, research research This is where you find out what you do not know. The more you know, the better your marketing strategy will be. Be certain you define the following: Your customers Why do they buy from you? What are they buying from you? (It may not be what you think!) What problems are they trying to solve? How old are they? What is their income? What is their level of education? What is their marital statues? Do they have a religious preference? What is their comfort level with technology? Where do they live? Where do they work? What do they drive? How far do they drive? The list goes on and on. You simply cannot know too much about your customers. Your competitors Who are your competitors? Are they only in your industry? What is their USP (Unique Selling Proposition)? Why do their customers choose them? You may be surprised to discover your competition may not be another business after all. Consider the car wash chain that discovered their biggest competitor was their own customer! Instead of focusing their marketing messages on “on upping” other car wash facilities, this chain changed their focus and began airing messages to educate their customers on the benefits of their system over washing their cars at home. Once this business recognized who their true competitor was and changed their ad copy, they began to see measurable results in the bottom line! STEP TWO – Determine the problems your customer has and the solutions you offer.Everyone has problems. Marketing is merely the act of bringing your solutions before the people who need it most and are ready, willing and able to pay for it. The more you know about your customer, the better you’ll be able to showcase the solutions you offer that s/he is seeking. STEP THREE – Determine the emotional triggers that will ignite your sales. The act of buying is a complex and emotional decision. The reason your customer is making a purchase is not always readily apparent. While you may think that you are selling candles, your customers may actually be buying: Emergency lighting Aroma therapy Ambiance Notice, not one of the customers above is buying candles. They are instead, purchasing a function of the candles. Find out why your customers are buying and you will be on your way to marketing success. STEP FOUR – Creating a marketing strategy that delivers results! Now it is time to take the information gathered in the first three steps to create a precise marketing strategy for your business or product. Once you recognize who your potential customer is, you can begin to focus your message on their wants, their needs and their desires. A marketing strategy is simply a plan where you get your message in front of the right people, those who want and need your product or service. About Indian Wedding

By Crick Jain The Indian culture celebrates marriage as a sacrament (Sanskara), a rite enabling two individuals to start their journey in life together. In a Hindu wedding, the multiplicity of creation becomes possible when spirit (Purush) unites with matter (Prakritti). The Hindu wedding lays emphasis on three essential values: happiness, harmony, and growth. The institution of marriage can be traced back to Vedic times. The ceremony should be held on a day in the “bright half” of the northern course of the sun. Months before the wedding an engagement ceremony known as Mangni is held. This is to bless the couple, who are then given gifts of jewelry and clothing by their new family. The wedding ceremony is one of the oldest traditions of Indian culture. The elements of the ceremony were set more than forty centuries ago in the ancient Hindu scriptures known as the “Vedas”. The marriage (Lagna), witnessed by all guests, is not only the union of a man & woman, but also of their families. This section covers most aspects of a Hindu wedding, from preparations and traditions to specific details of the wedding ceremonies for nine different branches of Hinduism. Hindus believe in many gods (devas) but only one Supreme Being. They place their trust in the law of karma by which people merit their fate and where they resolve their conflicts and imperfections through reincarnation. They believe in the sanctity of life and practise ahimsa (non-injury) and practise tolerance towards other religions although they believe that only Hinduism offers salvation. Are You Worried about Fasting and Blood Sugar Levels?

By Foras Aje As great as fasting is for health, several peoples first reaction when it is suggested to them is the weakness they may experience from low blood sugar considering the absence food. Though it is an important factor, there are some tips one can implement to prevent or alleviate such an experience from fasting. Now, I was discussing with a friend at work about the issue of juice and water fasting. Incidentally, she is a Christian so she knows what fasting is all about at least from a Christian or spiritual fasting point of view. She told me that as much as she may like the concept of fasting for cleansing the body, she always worried about her blood sugar levels while fasting and felt that about the only way she could be successful at it was if she took some days off to be away from even the mildest of physical exertions. She is quite correct. However, from my experiences with Christian and juice fasting, if one uses the following fasting diet or juice recipe it will be safe to say that one’s blood sugar level while fasting would not be too low, consequently weakness may not be experienced in excess. First, here are the necessary ingredients. -Grade B Maple Syrup (Organic preferably) -Organic Valencia Oranges -Chilled Water (distilled, reverse osmosis or filtered) The basic recipe is this For each medium size to large orange and 2.5 (or slightly less) oz of maple syrup, add enough cold water to make a pints worth of juice. The Genuine Maple Syrup has a balanced mixture of sugars (unlike honey, which is a big no! no!) and when thoroughly masticated (the fasting juice that is…) it is released with even more ease into the blood stream, consequently it makes the blood sugar levels while fasting more leveled out. Admittedly, one may feel a little tired now and then, that is more of a detoxification symptom rather than fatigue as a result of a low blood sugar levels from fasting. This is why to slow the immense detoxing down, it is best to consume adequate (if not exclusive) amounts of fruits and vegetables to build an alkaline reserve in the body. These will also serve as intestinal brooms and moreover, initialize the detoxifying so by the time you engage in a juice or even water fasting session, you will be much cleansed for the process. So dont let the fear of low blood-sugar levels scare you from a fast when needed, with the tips above, you will definitely be just fine in using a fast for improving your health. Academia Robotics Programs Need to Press On

By Lance Winslow Robotics is going to be a huge industry in the United States and currently across America kids in grade school, middle school and high school are indeed thinking in advance of this as a possible career. Why? Well simple as there are many contests around the nation going on right now and these kids are getting better and better at robotics. Now consider the ushering in of artificial intelligent household android robots and the future in service businesses and manufacturing with robotics. Can you se why robotics will be so big? Now then to foster this further American Colleges, Trade Schools and Universities must get busy and increase their science, robotics, artificial intelligence and computer sciences program to keep up with the onslaught of new students and corporate research sponsorships and government research funding to make sure they can keep up. Academia Robotics Programs will need to triple in size twice or maybe three times in the next decade and a half to keep up with the needs of the World and the Corporate Markets and thus they need to Press On. This would be no time for our Colleges and Universities to rest on their laurels as the human race progresses. Consider all this in 2006. “Lance Winslow” – Online Think Tank forum board. Choosing the Right Aromatherapy eBook

By Lance G.Winslow At first it can seem intimidating with the number of ways there are to get into aromatherapy. The good news is you can learn more by signing up for an online class or reading an aromatherapy eBook without having to leave your favorite comfy chair. A few of these resources may be free. Depending on whether you want to walk away a certified aromatherapist or not other courses may cost between ten dollars to as much as $1,500. However, an indicator of quality isnt always price. The following article will give you information on how to sort out the worthwhile information from the timewasters. Certification An aromatherapist should be certified whether they are teaching an online class or writing an aromatherapy eBook. To find out you should check out your states licensing board. Proof of training may be required in some state for all alternative medicine healers. Even if states dont you should check to make sure there are no complaints that have been filed against the therapist in other areas of medicine. The National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy is another place you can check for a list of approved training programs and references. The NAHA is also a way to find a collection of recommended journals, websites and even a free aromatherapy eBook or two. The last area you should check is their experience. Find out if they run their own aromatherapy clinic and how many years of practice they have. Know if they have written other eBooks. The more books an individual has written means you are less likely to get an in depth aromatherapy eBook from them. If you are going to be paying a high amount of money for the eBook then this step is extremely important. Education The next thing you should find out is exactly what level of education you will need. If you are just starting out then you should find an aromatherapy eBook or class that covers the twelve basic essential oils that are found in most starter kits such as bay, bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, eucalyptus, geranium, lavender, lemon, orange, peppermint, rose, rosemary and ylang ylang. The best aromatherapy eBook for beginners are those that talk about how to blend oils, ways to diffuse the scents and how to safely handle the products. It is a good find if you manage to get one that also has a dash of history. Advanced level instruction usually focuses on branching out into specialized directions. You can download an aromatherapy eBook if you are craft oriented that will show you ways to turn your essential oils into fragranced candles or building your own diffusers. If you are interested in ways to use aromatherapy therapeutically or if you are more science minded then you should read a couple of eBooks on anatomy and physiology and focus your attention on the olfactory system. An aromatherapy eBook that deals with the legal and ethical issues involved is a good option to help those ready to start a practice get off on the right foot. Lance Winslow in an Aromatherapy and Essential Oils expert; and writes on aromatherapy, aromatherapy diffuser and aromatherapy herbs. How Music Can Help You Burn More Fat

By Arina Nikitina Browsing one of the Russian websites I have recently found a little article claiming that music can affect our health both improving and worsening it. That sounded very interesting and I decided to research how can music actually affect our well-being. What I found has blown my mind and I want to share the results with you. Scientists all over the world agreed that music influences hormone production that are directly connected with our emotions. If you think about it you are influenced by music all the time. Think of your last time you’ve watched a horror movie. Remember how music actually made your heart race faster. Music physicians in Japan and China help patients form their own music aid kits, where you can find CDs with the names like “Liver”, “Lungs”, “Migraine” or “Metabolism”. Now let me tell you about my most valuable discovery. Music can not only improve your overall health, it can also help you lose weight! Eating dinner while listening to Mozart helps to improve your metabolism and food digestion. When you eat while listening to the pop or rock music you automatically start eating faster. As a result you swallow bigger pieces making it harder for your stomach to digest the food. Which inevitably leads to extra pounds. “When we listen to classical music, subconsciously you get an image of luxury, wealth and sophistication”, explains this phenomenon psychology Dr. Adrian Nort. It improves our mood, and makes us take our time and eat slowly enjoying food. Exercising while listening to the classical music help you lose weight a lot faster than listening to loud fitness pop music. Why? Maybe because during the experiment a first group of people listening to Vivaldi music worked out on a stationary bike a half an hour longer than the group who was listening to the pop music. Even if you are not a big fan of classical music I urge you to try it! What do you have to lose except for the ugly looking cellulite, extra body fat, and bad eating habits? The Second Key To Getting What You Want

By Rob Marshall His mind was racing and he just couldn’t believe what was happening. The father had brought his son to the disciples so that they could heal him, but not only had his son not been healed, the disciples were now arguing with the teachers of the Law. He kept thinking, “Wait a minute! This isn’t right. What about my son? Who is going to heal my son?” As all of this was going on, Jesus returned. The people quickly ran to Jesus and the father burst through the crowd and cried out to Him, “Teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech. Whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground. He foams at the mouth, gnashes his teeth and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.” (Mark 9:17) When reading this story in the Gospel of Mark it’s interesting that the first thing Jesus does is to reprimand the disciples for their lack of faith. When the father cries out and says, “But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” Jesus looked at the father and said, “‘If You can?’” He pointed out that the problem wasn’t what Jesus could do, but what the father could believe. He told him, “Everything is possible for him who believes.” (Mark 9:23) It is safe to assume that the father had come to Jesus’ disciples expecting that his son would be healed. He had come in faith, but when things went terribly wrong, his faith had faded. And when Jesus came, there was probably nothing left except questions and doubts. There may be a lot of people who say, “I know what I want in life, but I just can’t seem to get it.” Like this father, we come to God hoping that He will help us, but things don’t go as we had planned and we find ourselves full of questions. God tells us that everything is possible if we will believe, but all we can say is: “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” (Mark 9:24) When we decide to go for the things we want in life, one of the first things that will happen is nothing. It’s at that point that most people will scratch their heads and wonder if they’ve made a big mistake. We often fail to get what we want in life simply because we don’t really believe that we can get it. So when things go wrong, we give up. God isn’t expecting us to have a huge amount of faith. What He does expect is that we have enough faith that we won’t give up when things seem to go wrong. He wants us to have enough trust in Him that we don’t question His ability and willingness to answer our prayers, even when it seems like nothing is happening. If the father in this story had given up, his son may never have been healed. But because he went to Jesus and admitted that he was struggling, Jesus helped him overcome his doubts and unbelief, and his son was healed. When it comes to faith I like say, “If there is no room for doubt, there is no room for faith.” Our faith is not strong because we have no doubts; it’s strong because we continue to look to God in spite of those doubts. In order for us to get what we want, we first have to know what it is. Once we know what it is, we have to be willing to hold on to our faith, continue to believe that God will hear us and answer our prayers, even when we still have questions. The second key for getting what we want is developing the kind of faith in God that doesn’t crumble when things go wrong. It’s the kind of faith that continues to believe in God’s abilities no matter what happens, and that gives us the confidence to expect an answer from God even when we are struggling with our doubts.
